KPFT was off air for a couple of hours yesterday morning. Looks like an AC power issue at the tower. It does not appear that KSBJ or the two way stuff was affected, but I think they are on their own generators.
According to the FCC database, KSBJ has a auxiliary antenna at 518'. KPFT filed for an auxiliary at one time, but the permit was cancelled. If work has to be done on the KSBJ main antenna, KPFT probably has to reduce power or go off completely. Someone more familiar with the site will have to comment on generators.
I believe it was a CenterPoint issue to the site. When I managed the two way stuff, we dropped off air a lot until we finally sprung for a generator. We were in the same building as the KPFT transmitter and they had no back up power. When KSBJ came along, they dropped in their own building behind the main one with their own generator.
