KPGG 103.9 Texarkana Changes

Well, IMHO, I would like to see Red Dirt Country. I have never been big on listening to music older than me, so I won't miss Country Legends. I guess in hind sight, they should have put County Legends on their 1400 AM instead of Spanish music. That way, they could probably keep most of the classic country audience and use the FM on something a little more exciting. I mean seriously, FM radio wasn't even around when most of KPGG's playlist was recorded, and most of their audience grew up on AM radio.

I think it's a good plan to keep Country Legends alive.... AMI, are you getting all this?

I agree. I have worked with pretty much all the Tx and red dirt bands that come through on their shows. The attendance of their shows is amazing here now, which leads me to believe that audiences are looking for this type of music more and more... Even going further, Brantley Gilbert... Huge around Georgia and surrounding areas. When he played Texarkana a few months ago the turnout was mind-blowing! This area is starving for this type of music, and there needs to be a station that puts it out there. Most of these guys aren't Nashville artists, and alot of it is by choice. They are solely dependent on the fans!

I think they have officially nixed the format change. I just heard Fabian talking about how she's glad their not changing.

I heard it was the GM's ideal to change formats and corporate canned the GM
