KPHX and Metro

Is there even a live human being over there during the week? Again... don't plan on any complex programming over there. Keep something coming out of the speakers and that's enough.

Are those the same people doing "news" breaks on KXXT? Some of the readers on KXXT need further training. I'm thinking of one guy who has the wrong vocal inflection to denote the end of stories. He's halfway into another story before I've figured out he's reading a new story.

Then there's the guy who entertains himself while doing traffic reports.

Just my opinions, you understand.

Funny you should bring up Metro and news.

There was an item on All Access last week,
apparently overlooked by this board...so far,
in which Bonneville/Phoenix had entered into
a pact with Metro Networks to provide traffic
and news for KT'R (and KPKX, KMVP).

Assuming Metro is currently the origination for
Deputy Dan's traffic on KT'R (cause it ain't
the Cheap Channel traffic guys), what is the
"and news" part of this contract all about?
Is the new "PD in secret underwear" planning on
outsourcing news in off-peak dayparts to Metro?

You missed John Gibson of The Patriot using the name Don Rather as if we didn't know. Lee Powell is so shrill that Nurse Jeff holds the radio speaker up to the 76 Gremlin's radiator and spot welds the leaks. I'm rather partial to John Doromey who begins each newscast with "..Well..". Yup..this is just the ticket for KT'R! Jeez.

Surprising someone as good as John actually works at Salem! And that other KFYI castoff? Compare that to another Metro talent, Barbara Villa.
