KPHX patterns

It appears per R-L that while 1480 did not change its xmtr location (23rd Ave & Roeser) that they are now more circular during the day heading southwest. Anyone know what happened to cause the pattern to change?

Also, at night, what is it they're protecting? With little on 1470 or 1480 and 1490 being a local channel, I don't see why they couldn't have more than 500w.

In the days gone by, I always thought they were protecting KWIZ in Anaheim.

The Phoenix stations on 1480 have always been rather wimpy peanut whistles, haven't they?
