Not exactly. It's Shamrock's former CEO and their Chief Engineer, but not Shamrock itself. The buyer is Shamrock which also owns KRZQ 105.9 which had a CP to upgrade into LV on 106.1.
Good catch. We regret the error. Not exactly. It's Shamrock's former CEO and their Chief Engineer, but not Shamrock itself.
I wonder what format the new owner is going to put on KPKK. I don't know if that station has ever done well in its lifetime.
That kind of move would be financial suicide for Kool 102. 102.3 has perfect coverage of Las Vegas while KPKK doesn't even provide a rimshot signal. Maybe if they wanted to run a simulcast?Maybe put KQLL out of it's misery. An AM that reduces to 28 watts at night a a Translator. And incidentally 1280 is off air with the translator still on air and I've been told it's been off for days.

and if you think 106.1 is the answer to 102.3's problems, you have not looked at a 106.1 60 dbu coverage map. 106.1 looks like itll have similar issues. But a CP to upgrade into Vegas on 106.1 means both 1280 and 102.3 are superfluous. Not to mention 102.3 is from the Strat which definitely has black spots. Parts of Eastern are unlistenable. And tends to fade out pretty quick outside of Vegas
99% of KQLL's audience is on the translator and it is doing QUITE WELL off of that. Hearsay of it being off for a couple days means nothing, but this is a company that just took KJUL silent for financial reasons. Why would they want to acquire another rimshot and pay the costs of building it out when the one they have is a financial drain?Maybe put KQLL out of it's misery. An AM that reduces to 28 watts at night a a Translator. And incidentally 1280 is off air with the translator still on air and I've been told it's been off for days.
