And perhaps AAR will find a boys and girls club looking to lend some money.

Of course, AAR fired the guy responsible for that deal more than a year ago, but years from now the right will still try to identify AAR with his screwups. And if I was a conspiracy theorist I'd point out that the guy, Evan Cohen, is a former (?) Republican operative.

Meanwhile, KPOJ is UP significantly and KEX, which carries Limbaugh, is DOWN significantly. Somehow, I don't think we'll see that in a Premiere press release.
Edited by Scribbler on 07/29/05 01:36 AM.

Of course, now the right will try to explain this by saying that Portland is a liberal city. It is, but Arbitron doesn't measure "cities," it measures MARKETS, and the Portland MARKET is no more liberal than most big city markets.

In fact, Clackamas County, the big suburban county just to the south of Portland, went for Bush in the last election.

As a long-time New Yorker, I've long contended that Air America would do as well in the New York City market as it does in the Portland market, if it was on a station with a signal comparable to KPOJ's.

Talking Point Alert... and debunked in other threads. You can keep saying it and closing your eyes and wishing hard for it to be true, but it isn't.

KPOJ (AAR): The number one talker in 25-54!

Yes, KPOJ is the number one AM in 25-54, although it's sixth overall in that demo.

On Randi's show...a sales person from KPOJ called up to share with her that she was #1 at 3pm to 7pm (overall and demographic 25-54)...this was good news for the goddess...can anyone verify it for me...or check a book you have access too..the only thing im curious about is the overall...i expect her to do well...im just being a curious type

Im making an edit to correct a funny thing Scribbler pointed out to me....i expect her to do well (not wee- thanks Scribbler)....but wasn't sure if she got the overall numbers in Portland

The "goddess" and "diva" nicknames are some of the terms Randi fans call her because she is such a boisterous host......and sometimes a bit of a "drama queen

AAR got a $500,000 loan from a boys and girls club in NYC. What did they do with the money? Have they paid it back? Will they pay it back? No answers in their statement, only some legalese about a new corporation. Al Franken better see that the money is paid back if he plans to run for the senate. Interesting that AAR stands for the rich and corporate interests with slick lawyers rather than sick elderly people and underpriviledged kids. You too?

"The goddess?" Do you realize how much that makes you look like a cult member? Or was this an attempt at satire?
Edited by Scribbler on 07/29/05 04:50 PM.

I'd rather hear "Goddess" then El Rushbo. "Mega-dittos El Rushbo." Give me a break. I remember Mike Trivisanno in Cleveland had callers who would call daily with Mega-dildos. Good radio.

I believe "goddess" is an occasional term of affection by regular listeners to her show. (And yes, I believe callers still use that certain term on Triv's show, too.)

It's much like when fans call WW1 syndicated afternoon team Don & Mike "Radio Gods". It doesn't really mean much.
