KPRC Losing 11am News In The Fall

I saw a commerical the other day that said there will be no more news at 11am starting this fall I guess it costs them to much to pay the on air news people

Although a number of stations around the country have dumped midday news, I haven't heard anything about KPRC doing so. Care to elaborate?

Not a huge surprise if true, but I have my doubts.

I saw a commerical for a new talk show that be at 11am starting this fall

Guess this answers my question on the timeslot for Dr. Oz. Kinda figured they were gonna ax either the 11 a.m. or 4 p.m. newscast.

I guess it costs them to much to pay the on air news people

That's not the reason KPRC is dropping its midday newscast, if indeed they are. Nobody is losing their job. Yet. I don't think. Stay tuned.

I'm guessing they finally got tired of midday ratings that barely move the needle, and they apparently think another daytime talker will pull better numbers.

I saw the commerical again tonight they are losing both 11am & 4pm news

DR Oz both at 11am & 4pm

That can't be right, unless they've received some sort of special permission from the Queen of Daytime. Contracts say Dr. Oz can't go up against Oprah. Just like no one can air Dr. Phil against Oprah. Oprah's offspring have to play by Oprah's rules ...

Just saw a new promo for DR Oz now it will only be at 3pm I guess KPRC has no idea what time slot they will put DR Oz

OK, the Channel 2 morning team cleared things up on their Facebook page. Dr. Oz will air at 3 p.m. The ads we've been seeing are for health reports Dr. Oz will be doing during the 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. newscasts, which aren't going away.

So, If Dr. OZ will be shown on Channel 2, Where will Dr. Phil be Moving? Over to Channel 11 at the same time as Channel 2 (Right Before Oprah-At 3PM)?
