KPSV Tulare

Does anyone know if there is any plan or chance for this CP to re-locate to a higher/better HAAT? This CP location is pretty pitiful - almost a waste of 25kw ERP given its low HAAT location. Is it at all possible to relocate to higher elevation? The designated site barely gets to Tulare, Visalia, and Hanford. (or anywhere else, according to Longly-Rice) 25kW ERP at 53m HAAT 36 1 31N 119 32 6W

Surely, the 92.1s in Clovis and Bakersfield put big-time limitations on options for any eastside elevated possibilities. Isn't there maybe a taller stick on the valley floor that would work? The CP for 53m is pretty pathetic where it is located, miles from anywhere.

The proposed tower site for 91.9 B1 - is located on a cellphone tower about 3 miles south of Corcoran. The 91.9 B1 could be "downgraded" to a low class A and relocated to a tower much closer to Tulare. The 102.3 tower would be a good place to start.

That just might make better sense.

I wonder if they have the money or people interested in getting the station on the air. The South Valley Peace Center person who was spear heading this last I heard had left the country and they had no money or people interested in pursuing it.

Too bad, but there are probably going to be a lot of these CP's that will expire without being built. Remember, they were all applied for at a time before the economic downturn, and people were doing whatever they could to gain a license - including some with rather bizarre directional antenna patterns. Those are especially likely to fall by the wayside.

The valley already is over-radioed- but....
If the South Valley Peace Center has run out of motivation on this project perhaps KFCF/FFCF could take over the project - considering the infringements on their 88.1 signal in the south valley, it might be of some usefulness in extending the KFCF signal.
