KPTI 105.3 CRYSTAL BEACH/ GALVESTON TO WINNIE

What ever happened to KPTI moving to Winnie and upgrading? Does anyone know of the status???? Isnt it supposed to be upgraded and be Tejano??

Yes, there is a CP for KPTI/Crystal Beach moving the COL to Winnie and increasing to 50kw from nearly a 500 ft. stick. Will be MUCH improved for everyone along the coast, but not Houston. KTWL being in the way up here in the north prevents KPTI from being any type of player in Houston, but will certainly boom into Beaumont and points east. Poor Stan will lose his empty frequency for his lawn mowing adventures. IMO, this is great for The Triangle as they have lost so many of their stations to Houston. Good to see we can give back to Beaumont. At least they are saving it from the dune. Now if only KSTB were so lucky.

"Puro Tejano" was on KPTI before the hurricane. Seems like it was only a couple of weeks before Ike that KPTI flipped from Party to Puro Tejano, and I imagine that's what will return to the station once it refires.

We can only hope that this does not happen, either through ownership bankruptcy, or whatever means necessary. We need to keep 105.3 free in Beaumont.

Maybe Party can make a good move to this frequency??Or maybe Puro Tejano?

Party no longer exists, and they're surely not going to re-employ the jocks for a crap signal.
