KPTK

To all the listeners of KPTK out there, is there station voice Tom Huttyler? Sure sounds like it and I've heard that voice on several stations around the country.

Used to be Mike Preston, former KBKS PD...I suspect it still is?

Mike Preston went to Entercom and KKWF if I recall. They changed to somebody else shortly after.

And apparently has a national recognition, I've heard him not only on KPTK, but KKOB-FM, WQSM, WJLQ, KEHK though not sure if that station is still using him, KBXX, WNNK, and probably several others as well as many commercials, both local and national.

He's there. At the very least he does the legal at the top of the hour, and I think I heard him do a show promo a couple weeks ago. Since I only tune up that way occasionally, I couldn't tell you where in the schedule he can be heard on an hour by hour basis. As a matter of fact, I just figured out that they switched voices like the night before I posted thisthread.

I think that whomever has been the local voice guy on KPTK (there's been two that I can recall in the past few years) doing the station IDs and promos may be a turn off for the targeted audience. Too much bass and bravado. Sounds like he wants to fight you and race you down the street in his hot rod. Don't stick your tongue out when announcing, folks. It's not attractive. Use your natural voice in a normal speaking tone if you want to attract -- or not turn away -- adult listeners.
