What should Power 106 should do?

Power should do nothing. ;D

Their target is fundamentally 18-34, where they are #1 in the last trend, and in the discreet month of November, they have over an 8 share. The changes in KKBT (moving more 25-54) and the slightly lower levels of KXOL (down to 8th in the demo) have put Power in a very nice position of being the first buy for 18-34 and even 25-34.

For a while, KDAY took a bit, and The Beat was a more direct competitor. Add Latino taking a lot of Hispanics and you had a perfect storm for a while. Unlike the book (and movie) the storm was survivable and Power is back in the lead in its target demos.

Heck, they were even 6th 12+ for November... and #1 18-34 and #6 12+ means they will be very well positioned going into 2007.

I agree with David. Power 106 is well positioned for 2007. KXOL does seem to be playing slightly more English music - closer now to 50-50 ... Power 106 used to be the P1 hip-hop station with KKBT the P2. KXOL replaced KKBT as the P2 for Hispanics 18-34 - and I would assume they will stay right there.

If KIIS was to lean anymore Rhythmic they would have to list as A Rhythmic.
