KPWR HD3?

As I look over my dial on a
really good SONY HD-Radio each day,
I was really surprised
finding an HD3 on KPWR
this Wednesday morning around 430.
However, there is no audio.
Any guesses what will be running?
Only drawback for music seems
to be HD3s are not in stereo.
Thanks in advance from Sherman Oaks

It will be Asian programming when it signs on. It will also be added to sister stations WLUP-FM/Chicago and WQHT/New York City.

Asian Programming??? Why?

If HD radio is ever going to "WORK"... shouldn't the HD sub-channels still fit into the main channels "BRAND"???

It would be easy for them to run "Big Boy" all day on HD3... or "Power Dance"... maybe "Power Classics"....

but Asian programming???

It will actually be what they term "southern asian" which means a "station" of interest to individuals from India. I know KMRB 900am had a saturday show at one time for those folks. This HD-3 will most likely be the only outlet for this growing population but I'm not sure if many of them would consider the purchase of an HD radio.

the south asian community is pretty large here in SoCal and considering most music comes from movies "bollywood", i guess there's room for that. There's already 10+ south asian channels on dish network.

if HD-3 goes that, I can get my parents to buy an HD radio. lol.
