They need to look for someone that has the capability to import music into automation from a source other than a low grade internet stream. Half the songs they play sound like I'm listening to a 32k old school internet stream.

The PD opening has recently been filled, however if anyone knows a morning co-host/midday person with a knack for promotions and who doesnt mind the hurdles of a smaller market (ie pay grade, wearing many hats etc) The position will be opening Friday, April 2nd....could be a great opportunity for an up an comer or someone who just wants to get back into the business for the love of radio....

:)

"someone who just wants to get back into the business for the love of radio...."

Is that code talk for a gig that doesn't pay doodley squat?

lol jharmon...

maaayyybbbeee......

we all know how small markets are. But on the plus side, it is a great chance for a little creative freedom and learning the ropes....etc Plus the new PD that is in place seems to really be on the ball and I think he will do well with re-vamping Q93, provided he is allowed the tools needed to succeed.

and no.....I'm not Taylor ;)

Yes they will, and you WILL gain weight working there, and the pay wasn't that bad when I was there, actually it was pretty darn good by the nation-wide standards for small markets at the time.

LMAFO.......that's a joke! as long as Taylor is in the building it will never be drama free!! he is the drama "queen", I bet Charlie and Taylor are still always fighting with Taylor running away crying. I worked there some time ago, seems nothing has changed , Lets face it.. the Problems with that cluster is not Program Directors, it's the Two owners causing drama and tossing the employees under the bus after fating them up on something to eat.

I worked there too years ago. You could not have put it better. Hilarious! I thought Charlie was out of the picture, and his son was in there now with Taylor. Not sure on any of it though.

Excellent Post....btw is Taylor still rockin' the Prince Valiant Haircut?

I cant even tell you how humorous all the postings are to read.... :)

Charlie and Taylor are both still there. Chad Soprano is head of local sales...Taylor is still rocking the same "do" that we know and love...

Drama free.....lmao....does any person who is "career-radio" (and if you dont know what that is then you obviously arent) know of ANY radio station ANYWHERE that is drama free?? This is the broadcasting industry...lol

I really do have faith in the new PD. He seems to have not only good ideas, but a willingness to put forth the effort to implement them. I raise my glass to him...he is walking into a "cluster f" of a situation, and I wish him the best...genuinely

and as far as being fed...well you are....not as much as you used to be....but hey, Thursdays and the occasional Fridays beat a blank...right :)

I remember they had an old recording studio from back in the 70's they used for storage on the bottom floor . I used to dig around in the old albums and wonder how much coke was snorted in there.....

Yeah...same building...however the upstairs was revamped when they moved the Clear Channel stations over....and in regards to the old recording studio in the basement...I can only imagine! lol ;)

Hey pixie... Tell the new PD to rerip all the low grade sounding music in your automation system. That alone, makes me feel like I am listening to a station in Delhi or Tallulah. Very small market sounding.

I hope whoever was responsible for putting that stuff in is back at their KFC job now.

I grew up listening to that station. It pains me to hear how it has fallen.
