KQIE/ Q-104.7

Anyone know if 104.7 out of Redlands increased its power recently? I can now pick it up better in Azusa and Diamond Bar. When they were first on the air, I was getting interference from 104.7 in Oxnard but doesn't seem to happen anymore. Otherwise the weather has something to do with it.

Maybe because of the rain. It still shares the same programing from KCAQ in Oxnard. 104.7 in Oxnard plays commericals while 104.7 in Relands plays a remix of music during the break. I notice this saturday when I was drivng to Van Nuys. Then i went home to Pasadena and the 104.7 signal came in from Redlands. I think the signal breaks once you hit Glendale off the 210.

Its nice to hear something different since KGGI or KDAY hardly comes in

I notice this too....I headed to Redlands Saturday morning and was flipping the dial around.......I'm from the 805 and don't even listen to that station.....LOL.........

I heard it on the way to Vegas... it's basically the same thing as Q104.7 in Oxnard. At least the IE has something different, especially if people don't like all the rhythmic/urban stuff they play on KGGI. I noticed Q is a little more pop-oriented as they play artists like Ke$ha, Katy Perry and Taio Cruz.

We listen to KGGI sometimes at work and they still have 90s-2000s R&B and old school in heavy rotation. I guess KGGI does have a sound that is unique to the IE but it's not for everyone so having Q 104.7 gives us another choice. Time will tell how Q 104.7 fares. Seems like KGGI has so far outlived other attempts to compete with them (KOLA, Wild 96).

KQIE is on target to deliver around a 3.0 share Persons 6+ in just 10 weeks... pretty good.

Wasn't the point of having both the Ventura and IE stick to be able to capture a piece of the
11 million person LA market by not having to worry about interference issues?

3.0 in IE is respectable but that's only 300,000 cume.

If they took fullest advantage of 104.7's simulcast potential even a poor LA showing of .2 they could be cuming 300,000.

However the way they've seemed to crank down those sticks to avoid overlap issues theyve taken themselves out of the LA market.
