What is The Beat's lineup looking like since Dj Supreme left for North Carolina? I'm surprised they don't have a website.

So no idea of who is on and when?

Thanks Chip. Interesting that this station is supposed to be "#1 for Hip Hop and R&B", but on their myspace page, they're playing a rock song. I detect this station is still watered down.

Well, there's no arguing with the station's success in recent years. What's interesting to me is how a station that is so "urban" intensive has succeeded in a town that is less than 6% African-American...

When it comes the urban radio succeeding in a white market, it's actually pretty common. Urban stations that are willing to reach out to everyone do quite well. I remember about 10 years ago when KKFR "Power 92" in Phoenix, which was an urban that called itself rhythmic, had an audience that was 70% white. I'm sure they considered Hispanics as white or black since Hispanic was not classified as a race but a culture until recently, which brings me to my next point. Urban usually works very well with Hispanics, and Amarillo is roughly 20% Hispanic.
