KQQB Back on the air?

I hear English commercials and Spanish talk?

Yeah it was on the air, pretty decent signal into Lavaca county.

KQQB's website is up, although incomplete: http://my1520am.com

Brokered programming, daytime only.

Surprised to hear that. The KQQB null towards KYND is aimed right at Lavaca County, unless you are in the minor lobe aimed at Gonzales that covers a little bit of the county. http://www.radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=KQQB&service=AM&status=C&hours=D

Curious to hear how the station does various parts of SA. Pretty tight pattern WNW.

This could be one of the most interesting items from the website: "KQQB is operated by RAFTT INC with offices located in San Antonio, TX. Our programming is supported by our listeners who help us with our programming. We have other stations in Houston, Bellville, TX and Tulsa , IL."

Radio Free Texas Trust lives on. And Tulsa moved to Illinois.

That is because it is brokered ethnic. According to their website they play Conjunto, Salsa, and Texas Gardening Shows, with a Texas Music twist. Think of it like now defunct-KNAF, KEDA, KTJM Port Arthur, and Pre-Tejano days on KRIO 94.1 all mixed in. It seems like San Antonio's first AM brokered ethnic station. I may be wrong since I hardly listen to AM in San Antonio unless it is KTSA, KTKR, KONO-86, KLUP (sometimes), WOAI, KAHL, or Dx'ing KVNS out of Brownsville.

Just heard a polka song played a little while ago. Then heard someone say "interested in bringing back polka so San antonio please call the number" I can't remember the number they gave out, but with a 210 area code.

My mother would resent that since she lives in Tulsa! That was a move-in from Atoka, and I've never heard it on-air when I've gone to Tulsa to visit her. It seems like someone told me it was running the urban programming that was on 1340 there until a copper thief took them off-the-air. I believe it's a daytimer, and, yes, it's also brokered out. I wouldn't set my expectations too high for 1520, but, then again, I don't see anyone doing that!
