For the past few mornings prior to sunrise, I've been hearing classic country on 1190. I presume this is KQQZ from the St. Louis area, but haven't positively IDed it. They had a CP to move he COL from De Soto, MO to Fairview Heights, IL and boost nighttime power (to 650 watts with nulls toward Ft. Wayne, Dallas, and Portland.) Signal is fair-weak, but steady and usually on top.

Anyone else hearing this one? Based on what I see in Radio-Locator, I doubt that it's something else. But I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has another theory.
 
I hear them all the time in the north suburbs of Chicago. Weak but listenable with little QRM. I don't know what they're running at night; sounds like it could be a little more than 650W but you never know... with relatively high dial position and little competition, that could probably make it to Chicago.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I've been getting here in McHenry county. 1190 is relatively empty here....and has been even since WOWO was running 50kw. It seems as though we're in multiple nulls, which opens up the door for something like KQQZ. It may be that they're at 650 watts. But like you, I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they're using more than that. Their sister station on 1430 has been banging in here at night also.

What I was hearing was all classic country....mostly 50s and 60s. Seems to fit what KQQZ is doing. So while I haven't been able to listen during the past few days (and thus haven't yet made a positive ID), I think KQQZ is indeed what I had.
 
I've heard KQQZ a LOT at night in eastern Iowa, too. Not weak, quite strong. I strongly suspect they're boosting their nighttime power considerably.
