In February there was an update
The FCC’s letter inquiring about the operational status of KQSP/1530 (Shakopee) was returned to the FCC with a yellow U.S. Postal Service label indicating “forward time expired, return to sender.” The FCC uploaded an image of the returned letter as an attachment to the station’s license renewal application, which remains pending.
The station is still of the air (I live in MN and know its been off the air for a long time every time I drive through the Shakopee area)
The DNR owns the land so it was leased.
Rent hadn't been paid in years and the DNR was waiting for the towers to collapse so they could return the site to nature.
I knew Fred a little. I wonder what happened to all of the station's equipment? That transmitter site looks like it's in rough shape, and has for awhile.
