KQV to go off air after Dec 31

WING has an STA for 1250 watts nighttime Non directional due to pattern switching problems. With KQV off could they go fulltime non directional?

I don't think so. WING went to 5 kw fulltime in 1941, KQV in 1947. If KQV does not return, they might be able to open up the nighttime pattern a little, but they still have to protect other stations on the frequency, including Hartford.

The broker reported the owners of KQV have picked the winning bidder. While this is good news for KQV, the bad news for me is I'm not the bidder they picked. Because an agreement has not been signed, no announcement will be made. If I do find out who the buyer is, I will post it.

Hope to he'll it's not some God caster

Wow...$55,000 bought it. That says a lot.

Of course all they got was a license and some outdated equipment. Or an outdated license and equipment.

And in Boston $125k gets WMEX 1510 if new owner can find a transmitter site..tho previous owners only paid $175k

New owner not a Godcaster from what I've seen.Headline for this story said "KQV Resurrected" and the seller is known as Calvary, hmm. But new owner seems to do oldies, brokered etc

KQV was 1,000 watts days non directional, 500 watts night directional into 2 towers on Crane ave. Before moving to the North Hills site. I don't know how much power they will get using one tower. But may I suggest moving to 1400 with 1,000 Watts fulltime. WBBD Wheeling is 51 miles from the WEDO tower.

1400 in Wheeling is way too close to allow KQV to operate on that frequency.

Looks like there is a translator going along with it.

Looks like not... It was dismissed today by the FCC for failure to file Form 175 for Auction 100. OOPS!

An application for a construction Permit Has been submitted asking 5000 watts day non directional, 75 watts nighttime. Still license to Pittsburgh from the WEDO tower in North Versailles.

Saturday March 17,2018 KQV was on the air this morning Carrying Bloomberg Radio.at 9:55 am (edt) the Program stopped.

On Saturday morning KQV has been on the air with Bloomberg radio or "historic KQV ".As I write this their running an old Cheerios ad. (4/14/18, 07:45).

Bob Stevens Has apply to move KQV'S Transmitter 15 miles southeast of its current site using 5 kw day non directional. The current day pattern uses 3 towers , KQV has no signal in Butler. I wonder why they did not try going non directional day?

From what I understand the site was in severe disrepair and barely staying on air as it was. They didn't seem interested in putting any money into it at all. So I'm guessing there just wasn't any money available to make changes even if they would have been approved.
