KRAM was THE top 40 leader in the 1950's, from what I've been told by long-time Las Vegas residents. KLAS (now KLAV) with the slogan "King KLAS" around 1960 was top-40 but went automated under owner Paul Schafer ("the Father of Automation") in 1961 it went bankrupt. Only date I know for sure is June 1968 when KRAM applied to move to Sandhill Road, and eventually they swapped licenses and frequencies with 1340 KORK. KORK became the MOR leader after that and KRAM became country. In November 1969 the trades reported that KRAM a country station applied for a CP to build a station in Lake Havasu.
