KRAV Mornings

I just noticed on ANOTHER web site that KRAV in Tulsa is looking for a new morning man. I thought that Chris & Nina have a pretty good show. Sounds like Nina is staying. Where is Chris going?

Any ideas who they may get? I know that there are a lot of morning people looking these days. Will be interesting to see what the Cox boys come up with.

I have no idea whom they may tap for this opportunity. But I will say that whomever joins the team is in for a great ride. I did some part time for Steve Hunter and he's a class act. Great guy to work for. And Cox was a great place to work. How many cluster PD's do you know who make the effort to take the PART time help out for dinner just to see how everything's goin'?

Best of luck, Steve.

Re: Mike

I worked with Mike twice. First in Grand Rapids and then in Tulsa at KAKC. Gary Stevens was the PD, Paul Drew was the consultant. Mike did mornings and I was the morning news anchor/ND. Carl Mark was the owner. What a fabulous set of pipes, Mr. Mark was a former network announcer in the "golden age" of radio! He did some incredible editorials during the short time I was at KAKC. It was a fine radio station that produced a lot of great talent.

Have known Mike for 30 years but havent seen him in a long time. I hope he is doing well.

I remember S. Carl Mark - a good owner, in the days when stations weren't owned by the big corporations.

Bubba, I am trying to remember your name on the air - it wasn't Darryl Myers, was it?

wasn't Mike McCarthy on KJSR in Tulsa within the past couple of years, doing weekends?

Re: Mike

Stan,

Daryl did afternoon news when I was there. I am wondering if you and I worked together at KAKC in 1976? Please email me at gnusasaurus at yahoo.com

Just read that Dave Westin from KXOJ is moving to Mix96 for mornings.
Don't know when they will make the change, but it looks like that have filled the postion. Good luck Dave! You are one of the good guys!

I wonder what KXOJ will do to fill afternoons?
