KRBE and its age demographics

I have to write a paper on radio marketing and KRBE is the station I chose and I've been doing some research (rankings, demographics, etc)
From what I've seen personally, the age group of 18-24 does not really care much for radio,
most of us have iPods and such or we just cycle through the stations to find something we like or skip the
commercials. Put simply, there's not much station loyalty or interest in the radio medium

My question is, what are some things that can be done to improve this? And in general, the main Houston music stations play a very
similar variety of music, just with different skews. What makes KRBE more enjoyable to the 24+ group and less enjoyable to the 18+ group

Simply put - the programming. Unlike Hot 95.7, KRBE is an Adult CHR, playing more Hot AC hits than the 'norm'. The reason why it's more enjoyable to 25+ instead of 18+ is because the music selections include the 4 Non-Blondes, Matchbox 20, Rob Thomas, Sheryl Crow, and the like.

If there were some things that were able to be done to improve the age issue, they'd be done long ago. Of course there's always contesting, higher spins, and interaction by text and social networking... but this generation expects everything at the tip of their fingers the moment they want it.
