The Program Director, Tracy Austin and Music Director Leslie B. are splitting the midday shift now. Did Scott Sparks get pushed out too?
I don't think that would matter. I really don't see Cumulus making changes to a cash cow like KRBE. It would be stupid. However with Pat Fant now in charge it makes me a little uncomfortable considering his background. He has (as far as I know) only been associated with Rock formats (KLOL, KTBZ... what else?) He seems out of place to me. He's old school radio where the music, the jocks, and the listeners matter. He could bring good things.jras20 said:If they change formats to that station that would be the most stupid thing Cumulus could ever do. I dont think I could support them if they change the format.

Don't be chickens**t at least name the pinhead- John dickey (lastname in lowercase intentionally)Mike O said:Every idiot decision comes from some pinhead in ATL that doesn't have a friggin clue about Houston radio and management in HOU has to implement whatever HQ wants.
Mike mike mike........please take a breather and chill.....I hate to tell you this but Cumulus is not going away...they JUST got an $850 MILLION cash infusion from backers....so they are NOT going anywhere anytime soon...Ok...feel worse now?? (sorry....but dude, it just aint gonna happen......Hell I would hope CC would get out of radio...but that isnt likely to happen either...and I would not loose any sleep if they didMike O said:Pat Fant is not the problem with Cumulus in Houston. The problem is that Cumulus HQ in Atlanta runs every little detail in the other cities, probably Houston even more so than the small markets. Every idiot decision comes from some pinhead in ATL that doesn't have a friggin clue about Houston radio and management in HOU has to implement whatever HQ wants. Unfortunately not uncommon in the mega companies, although I think CC has wised up some and realized that the personnel in the city the stations are located have a much better idea of what will work and what will not. Cumulus still hasn't grasped the idea that what works in ATL isn't going to work in HOU. I image that Cumulus will destroy their cash cow in KRBE and have three crap stations with some very talented people at all three stations. It is a shame, but I would not be the least bit surprised to see some very stupid changes at 104 in the coming weeks. The only positive, if there is one, is that at least Cumulus does try to do something while Cox has sat on their ass for years now with their four stations and hasn't done squat and their ratings reflect the total neglect of the four stations. What pisses me off with Cox is they had the chance to make a difference in Houston radio and couldn't be bothered or didn't have anyone in charge with enough smarts to know how to make it happen. Right now I would say CBS radio is doing the best at running The Wave and KILT-FM and hope that they buy out Cox. Cumulus will probably fade from the picture in a year or two tops.
Dont worry. Cumeless hasn't grasped what will work in Atlanta yet.Mike O said:Cumulus still hasn't grasped the idea that what works in ATL isn't going to work in HOU.
