Noooooooooo!

Say it isn't so. Does anyone have any suggestions for a new station? I've been listening to KRDJ for so long, I don't even know what else is out there.

You evidently did not get my post earlier where it was announced that the BBN (Bible Belt Network) bought 93.7 which ended KDRJ...a little late to the message arent you??

As continuous wave stated, this was from a sale a few years ago, the end of rock as we know it in the south has apparently begun. Sad when you gotta go up north to hear true rock stations (or stream)

When Icon 101 KLOL in Houston went hispanic, that was the start of the end....They tried to revive the format on 103.7 with Walton and Johnson (but Stevens and Pruett had set the bar...W&J are just imitators)...and it didnt work....W&J are on 950 AM in Houston and Walton owns 105.3 near Beaumont but the show is delayed there by a day or more!!!...Now NASH has taken over 97.9 in LCH (not rock but still)....CC still hold s 106.1 as a rock station and it does quite well...too bad it has Bob and Tom on mornings (Ugh)....and going north? A lot of the rockers there have flipped to something else....OR are under control of PPM so the DJs are nothing more than board ops..if that! WLS FM is a prime example....the bean counters dont know OR care about radio....all they want to do is sell spot loads......BUT with better ratings and personality, they could change more...(I remember morning spots on KEGL in Dallas would go for $1000 a 60sec spot!...a typical weekday would bring in around 175K or so)....Radio HAS to do something better to keep people interested...even LIVE ad reads and well done commercials can keep listeners (JACK FM in Dallas had some funny ones from Apple Movers..one started with hubby and wife dining and the husband tells the wife "Ive been cheating you.....with your sister" and the announcer pops in "Need to move?" NOW THAT was funny!! You could not wait to hear what else they would come up with!!

TV is slowly becoming what radio has been (well, the FCC sorta kinda reversed course on duopolies in small markets recently..yet look at the Beaumont market...Sinclair and Gannett own the 4 major networks between them and only two news staffs now......so much for competition)
