KRDX 98.5 on air full-time now?

Commercial-free, eclectic-playlist KRDX 98.5 Vail/Tucson (sister station to KCDX Florence/Phoenix) has been on-air since yesterday afternoon, including their first-ever all-night broadcast.
A call to the KCDX/KRDX phone line this morning inquiring as to whether this means that they will be on air full time now, as opposed to "whenever we feel like it" was answered with an enigmatic "maybe"....
Stay tuned...

Yay! They have a preset on my solid state receiver. What about 103.7?

Nothing on 103.7 yet.
Aside from being off-air for one +/-24-hour period a few days ago, KRDX has continued to broadcast since 4/14.

Wow! Radio like I remember it

KRDX holy crap! I'm transported back to the early days of FM in Tucson. WOOOHOOOOO Found this station out of no where. Got home early today and was feeling old school so I click on the big ole Sansui G 9000 in the back room (yes that's 160 REAL watt's per channel that will fry your twinky ipod) and I land on this channel. Thinking it's out of Phoenix or something (big roof antenna in Oro Valley) I sit and listen. Wow, song after song...different songs that isn't the typical play list of about 20 of the usual lousy rock stations in Tucson. Where are the commercials I say...I keep listening and listening. OMG hadn't heard that song in ages, or that one, or that one! This ROCKS!!! Just like the old days. My G 9000 is cranking thought my 1964 JBL's and I'm diggin this. Where can I donate to help these guys get a bigger transmitter and blow the typical rock radio stations off the air. No more channel surfing for me, hope this sticks around. I'm spreading the word on this one.

LMAO ipods...

Its been on the air as KCDX 103.1 Florence/Phoenix for a few years already- great playlists!! I reminder of what radio could/should be. :)

Same owner, same commercial-free format, but KRDX Vail/Tucson is NOT a simulcast of KCDX Florence/Phoenix.
How long can this guy (the owner--name escapes me) afford to 'play radio' on two stations? Hopefully for a long time...

I listened yesterday and today. Freakin' awesome. I love the wide variety. I was smiling the whole time. And I was surprised that I could get it all the way up in the northwest. Bring it on...

...they've gone silent tonight, Sunday May 3, sometime after 6PM.

Posted too soon, 9:10PM now and they're back on. Same song cycle that they were playing this morning, though.
I have noticed that they tend to replay the same song cycles for several days in a row. From what I can tell each cycle lasts 7-8 hours.

....breaking KRDX news...
As of about 30 minutes ago (11AM), they are now simulcasting on 103.7 as well as 98.5. 11AM legal ID referenced this.

Most unexpected, "never thought I'd hear this on the radio" song heard recently on KRDX: "Marquee Moon" by Television, 1977/78.
Runner up: "Try It" by the Standells, 1967 (remember hearing this song on 580 KIKX in the fall of '67--it was banned as being "too suggestive" by most Top 40 stations back then).

I can't hear anything on 103.7

"Marquee Moon"?? Where the *&%was I??
Although recently I've head Mink deVille's "Spanish Stroll" tossed in amongst the
classic rock fare. Methinks there's a NY protopunk compilation floating around their playlist.
Old Gogo's too. What can you say except...

MMMMMOOOORRRRREEEEEE PPPLLLEEEEAAASSSEEEEE!!!!!!
I'm splitting my car radio time between KRDX and Chuk Son at 90.9... depending on where I'm driving...

Methinks you are correct. Jim Carroll's "People Who Died" fits into that narrow subgenre as well.

Two regular KRDX/KCDX plays that I would love to fully ID:
1) "Euro Trash Girl"--artist?
2) Not sure of title, possibly "Had Us a Time". Alt-country sound, male vocal, great lyrics about a white-trash deluxe Oklahoma family reunion. Actual title and artist?
Anyone?

Yep, that's it! This song just cracks me up...perfect lyrics!
Thanks again...

The playlist would seem to have taken a turn towards an KOOL FM or KWFM oldies format limited to 60s and 70s. Leaning more pop-ish than album rockish. More sounders too. Hope they didn't ditch the deep playlist and album stuff. Someone had a thing for obscure Moody Blues stuff too....not that I'm complaining. But the 80's stuff seems to be out of the mix and the more rock-ish stuff seems out. Guess he figured is CC was going to relegate oldies to AM he'd go after that niche. I miss the original ipod-esque format he was using already.
