KRJY 1240 STA

Essentially, they'll be running 250 watts daytime from a long-wire in west Sacramento. This will be much weaker of a signal, but it's better than being off air. It should be strong enough to cover the City of Sacramento fairly well.

I guess that they'll be able to broadcast at 1,000 watts at night still, because the contour protection rules don't apply the same for nights the same way on the graveyard channels.

Wow! How retro! A horizontal longwire transmitting antenna -- now ain't that something.

Maybe when KRJY gets done using the site, they can leave the antenna up for DX geezers like me to use on weekends...

The long wire antenna is being installed this upcoming week. The calculated coverage will be about 75% of the .5 coverage.
