KRKO Adds Jim Rome

Word is KRKO will be up to 35,000 watts by the end of the month and I see today they have added Jim Rome live 9a - Noon. Looks like they're trying to establish some stuff before all of the ESPN goes away in March. Wonder if they'll do Dan Patrick in the morning or go live and local?
 
I realize I have "blinders" sometimes when it comes to reality ... but given the whack they are taking with KIRO's sports switch, I'd LOVE to see KRKO pick up the mantle and be a north sound full service. Power increase...competition eats your format...great signs that a change SHOULD be made!!!

Maybe THEN they would actually cover a fire outside their building when downtown Everett BBQ's next time.

Yes, it's expensive to do...but can be done as a "low budget" full service...jock & news could easily be the same person. No "rule" that you have to have both. Given today's computer live assist (automation), would be do-able to prepare news pieces while tunes are playing.

I'd like to see KRKO go for a LOCAL full-service AC format. Bird fed syndicated stuff should only amount to a few talk shows. Believe me, Everett folks have no shortage of gab.....
