KRKR Flips to talk...

Looks like KRKR, classic hits "Eagle" has flipped to a talk format. I'm listening (a few days behind) to the Don and Mike show's podcast and they just got a call from Omaha; apparently no one told them they were on in Nebraska beforehand. :D

After several minutes of faux-celebration for finally clawing their way up to market #72, someone notes that the station is actually in Lincoln, at which point they become very disappointed.

I see this station has a CP to move to 94.9 and put a good but small signal into Omaha.

(Forgive this Mississippian for butting in on the Nebraska board, but I thought it was worth mentioning. 8) )

When Three Eagles Broadcasting took over the Lincoln Clear Channel stations, they had to divest 2 of the FMs. Since 95.1 and 102.7 have construction permits to become Omaha stations (95.1 is shifting to 94.9) those two were sent into a trust. This left Three Eagles with 92.9 The Eagle, 96.9 Kix, 104.1 The Blaze, and 106.3 KFRX. They've attempted to shift the listeners of 95 Rock to The Eagle and sent the hit music station KFRX from 102.7 to 106.3. 102.7 has re-branded as adult contemporary 102.7 The Breeze. I'm guessing the "95 Talk-FM" branding on 95.1 would allow them to keep the name with the eventual shift to 94.9. However, I doubt this is happening anytime soon since they are promoting themselves as the new home of Lincoln Stars hockey.
