KRLA --Now 50,000 Watts??

All:

I understand that KRLA 870 is now broadcasting at 50,000 watts.

As the immortal Jim Healy used to say "Is it true??", and if it is, is it a "directional" 50k signal, and what new areas does the new "footprint" cover.

50,000 watts and no one's home.

Terrible signal. OK in OC, static in WLA and the Valley.

50 kw daytime, of course. Here at the 134 and Brand, it is enough power to run our flourescent lights without turning one the switches. A lot seems to head towards Oxnard.

Who would believe anyone who can't even spell "on" correctly?

Sincerely,

El Porciuncula

According to Radio Locator it appears to now be operating at 50K with a construction permit. It also appears to be very directional , with the extra coverage coming from the Santa Barbara area.
