KRLD 1080AM Night Transmitter Missing UP!!! (off air or off Freq. on IBOC)

Hello All,
I has listening to KRLD 1080AM at about 1155PM July 16, 2008. Then at 12AM the transmitter signal went off. I found a low signal KRLD 1090AM. I think the KRLD HD-IBOC is missed up tonight. Now, at 2:30AM the signal is still missed up. I hope KRLD 1080 turns off IBOC now after this problem tonight. I am missing Charley Jones show tonight on 1080AM.

I am sorry!!! I missed typing class. Again tonight at 12AM July 18, 2008 KRLD signal went off freq. to 1090 to 1087.5 and low power. I guess they are not listening to transmitter at the station...Board OP...Chief EG.....????? Gavin needs to look for new transmitter workers and Board techs NOW!!!!

I noticed KRLD was off for a second time last night, too. But they were back around 2:30 with a repeat of Charley Jones' show. Charley Jones is great.
 
Perhaps this is the result "of" transmitter maintenance? It's common practice to perform technical maintenance in the wee hours. It's less disruptive to the larger, daytime audience.

You probably could have until WNWI (now Oak Lawn, IL) went 24 hr. and added enough background mumble
in one or another east-european language.

This station used to be in Valparaiso, IN as a 250w daytimer. WTIC was a regular catch here in Chicago,
but KRLD was another story.

There was WPON 1080 in Pontiac Illinois, another daytimer, silent now many years.
 
When KRLD, WCBS, WINS, KFWB and KNX are off the air, they are all equal in their abilities to be a news station. When they are all on the air, KRLD is far inferior in every way.
 
50 kHz of spectrum just to broadcast 3 kHz of human speech. How efficient. Bloated, arrogant, bandwidth hogs - all of these HD AMs that are talk or sports.
