KRLD -- 1st HD CH 3 at 105.3-3

Its not even cowboys season, i can see running this during the season, but what is there to talk about while their out, other than training and draft, which they already talk about enough on their main station

Well, the sports talking heads mentioned in the above post haven't had their chance to say what "they" feel about the draft and training. ::)

At least on my JVC car radio, the subchannels are being tuned out of order. My receiver was going HD1 (Rangers), HD3 (Cowboys), HD2 (Frisco) on Wednesday night.

Isn't the HD3 Channel usually the hardest to pick up of the 3 streams and (usually) gets the lowest bitrate? That makes no sense in the station's home market!

If it's mostly a sports talk format, it does not need a high bitrate.

I got news for you: aside from the people posting here, virtually no one can hear this station. Very few people have bought HD radios. Unless this is streamed online (and maybe it is) it is a total waste of resources.

I usually am one of the first to buy any new radio gizmo, but I have yet to find an HD radio displayed in any store that actually works. Supports my sane reasoning of keeping the cash in my pocket. If you could actually get the HD signal inside a building, that is.

Now if someone would invent HD Music On Hold, I would buy that - sight unseen. That would really be helpful during those long waits to the phone company. You could have free music to your stereo, for 30 minutes at a time. And you could also hear the telemarketers butcher the English language with great clarity. Bonus.

I'm not too sure that I would ever buy an HD radio. Too expensive for what you get. I would rather listen to my satellite radio. Since I drive alot for my job, in areas where there is very little terrestrial reception, it's worth the few bucks a month.

I tested my JVC KD-HDR1 CD Receiver today, and it did give the 105.3 HD stations in order: 1, 2, & 3.

There's a text description for 1 & 2, but not for 3.

It's funny, but every time I happen to tune into 105.3-3, they are airing the same segment with Moose Johnson talking about his first couple of seasons with the Cowboys...
