KRLD/NBC5??

I was listening to krld 1080 and I heard Nbc5 weather forecast during traffic on the 8s. Is there something that I missed? Is cbs 11 cutoff from krld?

I heard a full report from an NBC 5 reporter during my morning drive today.

KRLD and all of the CBS radio stations were sold to Entercom in a deal that was recently completed. Apparently if left KRLD free to negotiate with another TV partner.

A similar thing happened when Belo's TV stations were split into a separate company from the newspapers. It wasn't long before the Dallas Morning News ended their news partnership with WFAA and partnered with NBC 5. WFAA partnered with the Star-Telegram and WBAP radio.

(Until that happened, WBAP, the Star-Telegram, and NBC 5 had still been partners on some level for years, even though they had not been part of the same company since 1974.)
