KRLY/106.9 denied

That's too bad for KRLY. They would have had no interference on 106.9, unlike their current 107.9 where they are overpowered by KWVE in most parts of San Diego. As for short-spacing, KRLY's 2 watts is no threat to 106.5's 50,000-watt transmitter about 30 miles away.
 
The current LPFM rules do not allow for that massive of a jump from 107.9 to 106.9 they can only move to 107.7 is the max for an LPFM. Their only alternative is to wait until the filing window and re-file for the license on another frequency. But they are still going to have issues due to their extreme height. Rules are 100 watts from 100 feet, if you go up or down from there you have to lower power.
