Wow..... So the strings will now be attached to him, so he can dance for Ken and Hymen. Wonder what new things will he bring to the station.............. Hmmmmm...... Oh yeah!!! "New Same Ol' Dusty A$$ R&B", along with the all new...(drum roll please).... "Quietstorm Lunch Break", along with the, "5 O'Clock Quietstorm Traffic Jam", where KRNB will make your ride home so smooth, you will fall right to sleep in gridlock!! Wanna know why? Cause they are KRNB, and they can't make up their mind if they're New R&B or Dusty A$$ R&B, but one thing's for sure; They will "Quietstorm" your a$$ to death!!

I think they should have a 75% new/25%old music mix. In reality I would like to see someone do a total Neo-Soul format, similar to what The Flow was on XM Radio. But the reality of it is that type of format would be hard pressed to make any money at all. It would sound great and the vibe would be fabulous....but can you market it. Would car dealers, pawn shops, mom and pop businesses advertise on a Neo-soul station...

The KRNB of 2001 was the best I've ever heard from this station, because neo soul is what they did and they did it well. The Saturday Night Soul Lounge was an awesome syndicated show. I could only wish for that again.

I agree, but the problem is can it be done 24 hours 7 days a week.

I believe if Shay wouldn't had those programming shackles on her, she could have made it happen.

Musically it would have not been a problem. The problem with a 24/7/365 Neo-Soul station would be can the salespeople sell the air time. Brooklyn Jazz Cafe may buy time, but would Freedom Chevevolet. Some format may work with folk who live in Cedar Hill, Duncanville, and Desoto, but will folk who live on Bexar Street, Singleton Blvd, MLK and Malcolm X will like it too. If you are exposed to BET and not BETJ then you may not get the true deep cuts of Neo Soul. Thats all I am trying to say. In other words, will the Hoodrats listen to a neo soul format.

You would think the more upscale folks with money would buy into it. Especially if you sprinkle in a little jazz.

Of course...but again its about marketing the station to potential advertisers. If they know who would buy the time then you can do it. Its all about the money.
