Goldtwaite, Texas with 1,669 people and 5,145 in Mills County has a local radio station.
I haven't heard it but hope to on the next drive through the area.
The station is a 3 kw. offering pretty much full county reception.
Anybody out there that can tell me how it sounds, details on the format and if they're seeming to pay the bills selling ads?
Such small markets are really an either/or deal. In one town it can be real tough to survive but in the next town it thrives. It has lots to do with sense of community and general attitudes of the people. A key factor is the percentage of population that works where they live versus being the place you live because of cheap housing while working and playing elsewhere.
It appears the newspaper does quite well so I suspect the station is successful.
