Krock moves

I certainly hope they stay with a local host and local topics. While some may not agree with Krock, he became like a bad rash for many esteemed local officials who are allowing part of the area to go off a cliff. That was entertaining enough for me and a few others. Whether I listened or not, just knowing he was under their skin on a daily basis was comforting to me. It was like a huge "Happy" Howard Williamson talk show flashback from the early 80's.

I hope JRod doesn't settle for some kid who is too much of a talking head when it comes to rooting out the scum in Macon. My bet is that the GM will look for someone who will provoke people to listen in much the way as Krok. No you can't knock Caesar off his pedestal but you don't want people saying WMAC-AM went down the tubes.

Oh and between the talk about Krok and WBML relics (don't you dare throw away those goodies!) I thought about an old sign I saw at Buffalo's in Warner Robins. On the roadside back in the Seventies- and before -you could see 18x24" metal signs nailed to trees. In the center of the blue-and-white sign would be WMAZ. It listed the frequencies and channels of its offerings. If you're in the boonies you may yet find one that's nearly rusted.

I think Jeff Scott, who was sacked by his former station WRWR in Warner Robbins for not letting up on his criticism of local officials who misuse their office, would be a good choice. Not sure the pols in Macon who misuse their office want him on the air though.
