KROCK WILL FLIP

I was an account exec at WKRK WNCX and the rumors are true.Once the winter ratings came out Herschel flipped BIG TIME.They were set to flip on Memorial Day, but we were still using Rover's rating to sell ad's for morning's and midday's.We were using his lead in [10 till 11 o'clock] to give Rachel a huge boost (about 73% higher than they really are). You can expect a definitive announcement August 1 since ratings come in July 25.Thank GOD I quit because that place was a poorly managed hell-hole between a PD with no balls or confidence (Nard), and stuck-up Music Director/Assistant PD ----- (Rachel Steele) who walked around looking down on everybody , because her dad's a rich lawyer (David Paris of Nurenberg Paris)I was about to commit suicide in which my former sales people will be doing in about 2 month's.So I help this helps you.

That's unfortunate to hear, at least you got out of there before it went down. It is disapointing to hear that there will be one less rock/alternative station in Cleveland.

She's so stuck-up, she doesn't even use her own name (then again, doesn't everybody in radio)...

Sounds like CBS is better off not having you as an employee.

If you really were a sales person, you should have been in nards and rachel's office kissing their rear for all ratings you had to sell. Being where they were in the rankers ain't half bad.

Looks like QAL, NCX and DOK are doing pretty well. I last heard that QAL is giving Kiss a run for their money in core (agency) demos.

That is one thing I do not understand. In her case, I can see, she may want to distance herself from her father. But honestly, I don't think it is that big of a deal to use your actual name. I have more respect for the people who do.

How old are you again?

(if you answer with a number above 12, my response will be): "are you sure?" ::)

I never used my real name on the air because it's so complicated that nobody would ever know how to spell it in an Arbitron diary.

Oh... that, and... I didn't want any psycho listeners tracking me down and killing me ;)

Well, CBS Radio has been on a Top 40 kick lately. Just ask the folks in Pittsburgh, Houston, and Portland, Oregon (the latter where they just acquired another station's Rhythmic format). I wouldn't be surprised if CBS brings "Jammin' 92.3" back, and thats a "if".

TicTac... I hope you got out of radio. If you're trying to stay one step ahead of the next bad book, you're in the wrong business. Selling is about relationships and results.... not your last ranker.

It is about relationships, unless of course you are Clear Channel. If you have a good book, you hit the street and talk only about numbers and try to confuse the clients. Then take them for their money and never service their needs until the numbers come out again.

Exactlly how did you arrive at that conclusion? Did you work for Clear Channel or are you just speculating based on some urban legend?

No way. They'd be better off staying with the format they have now.

You only post this kind of thing if you work for a competitor and you have some belief that you will personally benefit from starting a rumor.

He's now looking for a more gullible audience as he has posted the same(stuff) over at the Listening Party. As far as I'm concerned, he's just a very poor imitation of my friend JimOhio, aka bloggger.

..you make me smile. IF you even worked there, you were probably fired...hence this rant. You worked in sales yet are complaining about people in programming...c'mon now.
Secondly, winter ratings don't really matter, and if you KNEW the ratings, you would see that over all, K-Rock had better numbers. Oh, and by the way, Rover was STILL AT KROCK for the winter ratings, and one of those months he wasn't on the air AT ALL. Even a non-employee could at least do some research and have a better lie going.
Oh, and how are you going to bash Rachel for her dad, when Rover's mom is a DOCTOR AND LAWYER. He's been raised with a silver spoon in his mouth and has NO IDEA what it's like to really work.

You have no idea what you're talking about, this is just another failed attempt at a KROCK rumor. This makes me think ClearChannel might be getting desperate. Stop listening to Rover's lies and get a real job in the biz...you might learn something.
