KOFY TV 20 has Me-TV as a sub channel on 20.2
My Network TV is already in the SFO Market.

I can honestly say that I haven't. I've never lived in the Bay Area, so my familiarity with KRON is purely anecdotal. I know of the station and of their difficulties since foolishly telling NBC to go pound sand back in 2001.

Sounds dreadful. Boy, they sure showed NBC, didn't they?
4.2 will not help, and will just be (at best) a repeat of Bay TV - pre-recorded newscasts repeated often, informericlas, and reruns of other KRON programming.
No one really cares about channel numbers as much as you think anymore. This board is an anomaly in that fact because it's loaded with broadcasters, engineers and radio/tv geeks but the average TV watcher does not give a rip. All they know or care to know is CBS is on channel 'x' in their market, NBC is on channel 'y' and so forth and so on. Moving KNTV to channel 4 just because it once had legacy NBC status benefits no one and just confuses Granny Gums in Mountain View who just wants to watch her Days Of Our Lives stories. The majority of television viewers have long since forgotten KRON was an NBC affiliate. It's ancient history much like where the KRON call letters were derived from in the first place.recto101 said:What I really mean is that KNTV should move to 4. I knew that NBC had KNTV for 10 years.

Yup - that's why they brand KNTV as "NBC Bay Area." People know where to find it, and the fact that they broadcast on Channel 11 means next to nothing, especially when the majority of viewers are seeing KNTV on Channel 3 for cable (not sure about satellite). Channel 3 actually has some benefits - If you hdo ave cable or satellite, and turn on your TV without the cable box, the first channel you'll see will be 3. That probably doesn't make much difference, but it doesn't hurt either.

or KFRC moving from 610AM to 106.9FM.

NBC likes the Channel 4 spot
CBS Likes the Channel 2 spot.
Most likely for uniformity and people traveling tune to those channels first.
Though its not 100%, but Networks they try for those channels
