Ashley Gold Messina, vice president and general manager of San Francisco’s KRON, informed staff today she would be leaving the station at the end of the year. “I will be moving on to my next challenge,” Messina wrote in a memo.
Messina has also served as GM at Media General Portland CBS affiliate KOIN, writing in her exit announcement “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time getting to know many of the KOIN staff members, learning about the station, and spending time in the Portland area. I cannot say enough good things about the people working at KOIN, and the hard work you all have contributed long before I came on board, but in particular the last 6 months.”
Messina was named GM at KRON in 2014, arriving from WDCW in Washington, where she was general manager.
