The Top 80 of each year of the 80s (1980-1989) with limited commercial interruption.
They'll likely pass through each year twice until it is over.
1980 + 1981 have finished as of this posting on 12/25 at 10:30 PM PT.

Loosely based on the Top 106.7 lists from each year with some songs dropped and added.

I like how they are staying somewhat revisionist "true" to the original lists but there are some wobbles here and there because the songs that charted high on the original KROQ charts then are not hip or even known now.
They are skipping bands like The Who, The Stones & Tom Petty with more now deemed alternative fare especially in the early 80's.
But "In The Air Tonight" by Genesis played; I guess it's solely because of the iconic Phil Collins drum fill at that one part we air air drum to.

Fair enough... I get it.

They are replacing songs with heavy curves and a lot of the tracks don't report titles and it's driving me crazy.
I have to google search lyrics as I hear them and my ears aren't all that great.

Love the musics I'm hearing though.
Top notch!
