KROV-FM San Antonio

After several years with no urban station in the metro area, KROV-FM has signed on in San Antonio. They are an HD2 station, but they are wisely streaming which is where I think most people will hear them. They lean in an urban AC direction. Hopefully at some point they will be able to lease an FM translator or AM station. I just don't think HD2 has much of a future.

I listened to them last night online through that link and I will tell you this, KROV-FM HD2 do not sound like a typical Urban AC you would normally hear. I heard some songs I would have never hear on any Urban AC radio station. For instance, I heard them playing Aretha Franklin "Who Zoomin' Who?", Jaheim "Impossible" (an album cut from his album "Another Round), and El DeBarge "When I See You" (an album cut from his album "Second Chance"). All I could say is that all the Urban AC stations need to step their game up and diversify their playlist more like KROV-FM HD2.

Yes, they sound pretty good. Fairly large and diverse playlist.
