"Let's Hear it For the Boy" from the 70's?? Sure......Let's get it right guys.

Might as well play "Rock the Boat" on a 60's set...right?

that song was from 1984 off the Footloose soundtrack...why would krth play something from the 80's on a 70's show?

Hmmm, it's something called "people make mistakes!" (and yes, computers make mistakes too)

If it's from Yes.com, they are notorious for errors. I doubt Shotgun Tom Kelly would let such a big mistake through. But you never know.

There are a few interesting choices on that list - lesser heard songs. "Dancing Machine," "Knock On Wood," and "One Bad Apple," among others. They're not exactly XM yet, but that's a bit of a wider playlist coming out there.

By the way, I tuned in WLNG for the first time in awhile, and at night it's a must-listen station. Amazing songs from their 10,000 plus playlist. I'd forgotten how great it is.

From the "70's at 7" song lists on the KRTH home page. Looks as if they expanded to a two hour show.

Shotgun doesn't do the 70's at 7 anymore. He gets off at 7 and Christina Kelly does the show now.

Shows you how much I listen to K-Earth these days!

Well then, she may think that song is from the 70s, who knows? (Doubt it. That song SREAMS 80s - blech.)

K-Earth strikes me as a station where either.....

- the computer is set up so that a jock cannot change the playlist even if they tried, or.....
- any jock who messed with the playlist, for any reason, would be in deep trouble, so nobody considers it.

So probably the blame goes to Mr. "KOST-Christmas" Jhani Kaye or one of his deputies.

From what I hear Kaye has always ruled with an iron hand, but it's hard to believe that he would program a song from the wrong decade.
I'm thinking it was just a stupid mistake that the jock didn't catch.
