KRTH Mornings?

Does anyone wonder what a good morning show on KRTH could do for their new direction? Only hoping this latest crew is interim.........comments?

Well, it's been 3 months since this post was started. Here's my response. Hollywood Hamilton was let go in early May 2006. Personally, I never warmed up to the guy. In fact, I stopped listening because of him. He belongs on AM radio, not FM. Gary Bryan has returned to the "morning drive" slot at K-Earth, thank goodness. I really don't think that... having a terrific morning show is going to help an oldies station too much. At least, not here in Southern California. But, it may help a little. I listen to oldies stations for the music. Having a good, likeable DJ on that station is a plus. Having a lousy DJ will cause me to switch stations.

Look at the oldies stations that are doing the best. WMJI and KOOL are my favorite examples. Both have strong morning shows that bring cume into the station, and improve TSL. It's getting pretty hard for a music staiton other than AC's to succeed without some strength in mornings beyond th emusic.
