KRTY sounds like trash

The subject of this post says it all. Talking about processing can be as boring as watching paint dry but it's beyond that. I spent the past week in San Jose and was amazed how horrible KRTY sounds. Is anyone awake there? Do they realize how bad they sound?

I've honestly heard stations in unrated markets that sound 10 times better.<P ID="signature">______________

>well, If they would have spend some of the money they got from the KARA sale, they could have done alot of upgrades to the tower, processing, studios, although I think they have all the music on digital harddrives, as do 99% of major radio stations nowadays, but, they still sound small marketish, and they don't care because they are the only game in town. I still remember how KARA sounded when they were using reel 2 reel and the cart wall automation. empire broadcasting has never really "got it", KRTY finally got a cool remote truck, the old z957 thunder truck.

KRTY was the first radio console I ever touched, that's why its so hard for me to hear that station sound as lousy as it does. I remember it sounding MUCH better 5-10 years ago then it does now. Yes, they're the only game in town, but they sounded this bad when The Bear was on the air so I don't know what they're doing there.

I do remember the cart wall automation system for KARA and the operator that had to be on site at all time to keep it in line. Those were the days...
