KRWM hits the "Santa" button

This afternoon, KRWM 106.9 hit the Santa button and went all X-Mas. You can bet KCMS will try after Thanksgiving, and what about KJR? They went X-mas last year but then SLIGHTLY flipped to more of the same 1970s and 80s crap you can hear on several other stations. Also, what about KXXO and KAFE? Will they switch soon too?

Maybe KJR will do it on their HD2 signal.

I might be speaking too soon, but they scored a 7.7 last year with the holiday flip. With Clear Channel bean counting gone berserk, I would have thought they'd have flipped KJR-FM to Holiday regardless of Rivers and Slaton.

Heard Spirit 105.3 [KCMS] this morning and they have also hit the "Santa" button as well. It's now a battle between three stations, them, KRWM and KVI 570 [switched on Thanksgiving until the new year before turning into a news/talker again]

I also heard KPLZ sprinkling Winter Wonderland a couple days ago, and KAFE is sprinkling X-Mas with regular soft rock programming. However, the Deiliah show is still the AC version and not the holiday version IIRC.

Further north, CHQM 103.5 Vancouver flipped to Christmas a week ago. Wouldn't be surprised if CIOC 98.5 Victoria flipped by the end of the week. KAFE is usually the last to flip (the week of Christmas.)

In the south end it looks like KGY-AM went all Christmas as well. In fact I was down there on Tuesday (before Thanksgiving) and they were already going for it.

And I've even heard a few X-Mas songs already on KIXI 880 too. Did notice CHQM going Santa when in Marysville on Thanksgiving. (was with family)

KING FM HD2 went all Christmas on the day after Thanksgiving.

Lucy Van Pelt: What kind of Christmas music is *that*?
Schroeder: Beethoven Christmas music.
Lucy Van Pelt: What has Beethoven got to do with Christmas? Everyone talks about how "great" Beethoven was. Beethoven wasn't so great.
[Schroeder stops playing]
Schroeder: What do you mean Beethoven wasn't so great?
Lucy Van Pelt: He never got his picture on bubblegum cards, did he? Have you ever seen his picture on a bubblegum card? Hmmm? How can you say someone is great who's never had his picture on bubblegum cards?
Schroeder: Good grief......
