KRWM - What happened to the audio this afternoon?

I was listening to KRWM around 1PM - and EVERYTHING, from music to Shellie Hart's talk to commercials, sounded like a low-quality webstream or MP3 file. Very tinny and doesn't sound like an FM station at all. What's up at the Sandusky house this afternoon?

Wonder if they were out of phase for a bit. In that case, Shelley would have been hard to hear, and the vocals would have been echoey or absent, with tinny audio.

When it's EVERYTHING sounding screwy, the problem is likely farther up the aural-to-broadcast chain from the operating studio (provided the board itself isn't threatening suicide.)

And even now, as then, corporate radio stations, at least should (but thankfully MOST still do...... untilthenextroundofbudgetcuts.... Oh... I'm sorry. I said "Until terrestrial radio kicks butt!") still have some sort of fallback studio/compressed audio playing device if the show is actually done live so work can be done on fixing the main studio board.

You know how it can be sometimes.

Instead of speculation and off-topic rants, has anyone thought of contacting the radio station to find out what happened?

No kidding, IC. AQH is SUCH a spoilsport. How DARE he come up with the most obvious answer to the OP's question? ::)

Well, then why don't one of you "insiders" do that and let everyone else know? Or are you ready to post that it's nobody's business but your own? :-*
These airwaves still really do belong to the public, no matter what you think, no matter how much corporate media types pretend they don't, just 'cuz they got a friend in Congress who will give them what they want, if they do the same for him. Hey, just be glad you've still got a few folks who take an interest in the industry, and care enough to talk about the stations you happen to work for this month.

Easy there, Goldi...why the hatin'?

The point was simple - if you want to know what happened, call the station and ask them.

Oh, and if you are gauging radio listenership by those participating on a radio board...I'd say you need a better yardstick.
