Personally, I can't relate to Rob, Arnie and Dawn. That's simply because I'm not part of the station's targeted lifegroup. I'm just surprised that they're not in more markets. They sound like a great success story.
Yeah, I heard some of the numbers yesterday....pretty impressive! All the jocks deserve a lot of credit for that. I've also noticed some tweaks in the music over the past month or so, and it seems to have served them well. Like Michael, I'm also out of their target demo and can't relate to RAD either, but you can't argue with their success. But I can certainly relate to everyone else and the music.

But I think most PDs and GMs are lazy; they hear a few segments (they don't do bits) and come to a quick judgment that the show won't work. To really appreciate the genius of RAD, one has to listen to complete shows for several days to a week. Then the character development, brilliant storytelling, and disciplined adherence to fundamentals start to make sense. The listeners get it...they may love the characters or love to hate them, but they listen because it's entertaining and great radio.
If their so wonderful and Rob so Great, why doesn't Rob get himself and his partners a gig on LA Radio, Or Chicago, Or New York, or San Francisco, Or Seattle, Or Phoenix, Or Portland, Ore., Or Philly, Or Miami, Or San Jose, Or Fresno, Or Detroit, Or Cleveland, Or Boston, Or Denver, Or Redding, and many others? By the way the three are very entertaining to be sure, but where are the countries radio PD's and GM's that should be knocking down Rob's door to get them signed up and on the air? Just Asking..
If RAD are #1, this shows the weakness of other morning shows in Sac. There is no doubt the other dayparts are very good. Pat Martin is great. Dog and Joe make me LMAO! Incredible chemistry. However, I do think Dog needs to go out and move the car!

RAD arent the only big number getters on 98 rock... every day part does phenomenally... some numbers are even higher than what RAD gets for mornings.. basically what im sayin is that RAD doesnt carry the station.. everyone does well.
All those great numbers and KZZO go's Top-40 without all the rap! Go Figure! Lots of brain dead morons running Sacramento's Radio Stations with a few noteable exceptions. Way to go 98 Rock! Keep it up!
