KRXQ 98.5 HD-2

Well at least it clears the way for new programing on the KDND-HD2, and the KRXQ-HD2 is a live simulcast that includes the local programing and games vs just a ESPN Sat feed.

Any chance they made that move in anticipation of picking up a translator so they can put ESPN on FM? I don't know that KCTC and KRXQ coverage are different enough that a move like that is required for use of a translate elsewhere in the market. It does seem like an odd move to make to worry about HD Radio which no one listens to. Unless they did it just so relieve someone of the duty of programming that live rock channel since they just had cuts in the building. Ok I'm done rambling off speculative ideas.

ESPN is still on 107.9 HD-2! What a waste, HD radio in this town is so mismanaged, no wonder nobody listens! 105.1 has no HD radio 2 at all!

KNCI 105.1 has an HD-2 ("The Ranch" Classic Country") and an HD-3 simulcast of KHTK-1140

Because 105.1 knows HD-2 would be a waste

I thought they were running a classic country format? Guess I don't listen to HD-2's very much.

Regardless, all the HD-2's and 3's are poorly imaged and programmed IMO. There are a few standouts.

Disappointed to see Live Rock go away.

I thought it was a creative format.
