Krz question.....

Listen occasionally to 98.5 KRZ online. Their mix of music is quite eclectic for a Top-40 station. Sounds a lot better than our major market stations here in Atlanta. KRZ really sounds more like a Hot-AC/CHR hybrid to me. Plus, a friend of mine also said that, KRZ used to have a golden-oldies show on Saturday nights (all the way up until kind of recently) while still remaining a pretty solid Top-40. My question is, has KRZ always had this wide of a CHR/AC-ish/Hot-AC format? Just curious....thanks! :)

It's a Legacy CHR station for sure. They play only the biggest hits, not focusing on anything rhythmic unless it's a MAJOR MAJOR hit. They're kind of a throwback in a lot of ways. The afternoon drive show is the strongest and has the most recognizable jock. They mix in a lot of older stuff that was big on the format from the last 20 years. The "Saturday Night Live at the Oldies" show was a thing until only about 3 years ago.

It's a station that makes almost no sense unless you know the market. Understand the Scranton/Wilkes Barre market and it pretty much all makes 100% sense. It's weird up here.
