KSAT 12.2 Stale commercial gripe

KSAT's Breaking History commercial that airs on Me-TV

Breaking news on the cities Southside, the White House today has just announced that President Barack Obama has appointed Mayor Julian Castro as the next housing secretary. Expect more. That was how long ago?

Seriously KSAT, time to take that commercial off the air and air a new one.

Any one else complain about that? Or am I the only one. I mean it was great the first 20 times aired like back in April, but it is almost 2015.

Why the stale and pointless commercials? I don't know.

You see this sort of thing a lot on digital subchannels, basically because the station is paying minimal to no attention to what is going on with them--they are an afterthought, running purely on automation and satellite delivery.

Ask staffers at any station about what is running on their digital subchannels. Most will have no clue, or even realize such services exist.

^this. To add to MediaFrog's comments, Houston's KUBE-DT41(virtual 57) uses a still frame ID at the TOH indicating that "you are watching U & MeTV on The Kube", KUBE-DT 57.5 Baytown, Texas. Never mind that the subchannel has moved twice since operating on .5, and has been carried on .4 for over a year now. Same holds true for "The Works" subchannel which IDs as KUBE-TV 57.5 as well, only it now resides on the .2.

Ridiculous.
